“Arab Festival 2016 brings Arabic Culture to Seattle ~ showcase the diversity, talent and accomplishments of Arab and Arab-Americans ~ strengthen ties among the Arab people and with other communities ~ increase local awareness of Arabs and Arab Americans as neighbors, professionals and leaders”
The Arab Festival is for all who wish to join in celebrating the rich culture of Arab people in our communities and abroad.
The Arab Center of Washington and Seattle Center Festal work in partnership to host this biennial community event.
The festival is a cultural weekend authentically celebrating food, culture, traditions, lifestyles, and peoples of the Arab world. The planning process is an opportunity to alter misconceptions, connect diverse members of our community, create cross-cultural friendships, and strengthen each planner, participant and volunteer. We engage students, teachers, service clubs, public officials, social justice organizations, faith groups, businesses, and individuals as we generate appreciation for the Arab-American community and its many dimensions.
Mahabah Festival will have a traditional bazaar for shopping and sights, delicious coffee made according to tradition, dancing, workshops and more for the whole family! Kids activities include an Arabic spelling bee, crafts, and other things to introduce or engage them in the Arab culture in fun ways.
Don’t miss the cultural information booths, which will represent many of the 22 Arab countries worldwide for a closer look at different cultures, histories, and traditions.
